Welcome
The Ram Lab is located in the heart of the ever-growing Lake Nona Medical City at the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences and the University of Central Florida.
Research Focus
Our goal is to understand how infection and disease influence alternative gene splicing in immune cells to develop targeted interventions aimed at reversing immune dysfunction.
Some current projects in the lab include:
Infectious Disease - Examining alternative splicing and adaptive NK cell responses in the context of longitudinal HIV and SIV infection.
Cancer - Defining the role of the tumor microenvironment in modulating alternative splicing in NK cells from Renal Cell Carcinoma and Prostate Cancer.
Alzheimer's Disease - Characterizing alternate splicing in the context of microglial reactivity to amyloid-beta plaques.
